Byron is a Director of Ferguson Cannon Lawyers whom he has been with since 1995. He graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) in 1997. Later that year he was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and in 1998 was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.

Byron leads the Business and Corporate and Wills and Estate Law teams at Ferguson Cannon Lawyers that focuses on the areas of law that impact directly on businesses and the people who own and work within them. Byron has an extensive range of knowledge in various areas of law including: Business and Corporate, Wills, Estates & Business Succession, Property, Asset Protection, Dispute Resolution and Government. He particularly enjoys working with his clients’ other trusted advisors to develop multifaceted strategic advice for their businesses or corporations.

His passion for these areas of the law have led him to present many conference papers and more recently the development of two blogs so that he can discuss and spread the word about real life legal matters that can impact on business, corporations and individuals. He has also led the charge with the development of Ferguson Cannon Lawyers’ secure web portal that allows for the provision of instructions and management of files on line. He believes this to be a first for a Queensland Law practice.

In addition to his legal pursuits he is a Director of Operation Smile Australia Limited, the Harcourts Foundation (Australia) and the International Network of Boutique Law Firms (INBLF). Byron is the Honorary Solicitor for the Confraternity of Brothers Rugby League Clubs and the Queensland Independent Secondary Schoolboys Rugby League.
