DIAC offers a large variety of family visas. These include:
Parent/Contributory Parent Visa (subclass 103/143)
This visa allows parents to migrate to Australia permanently to join their children who are living in Australia. More than half of their children must be permanently settled in Australia.
Remaining Relative Visa (subclass 115/835)
This visa is for people to join their brothers, sisters and parents who are their only near relatives and who are resident in Australia.
Aged Dependant Relative (subclass 114/838)
Permanent visa for aged persons who rely on a relative in Austalia for all, or most, of their living expenses.
Carer (subclass 116/836)
This is for people needed to care for an Australian relative or a member of their family unit, who has a medical condition.
New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship Visa (subclass 461)
This is for non-New Zealand citizens to travel to and live in Australia with a New Zealand citizen family member who is a special category visa holder.
Prospective Marriage Visa (subclass 300)
For people from overseas to enter Australia, marry their fiancé, who must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen within 9 months. Once married, holders of this visa can then apply to remain permanently in Australia.
Partner Visa Temporary/Permanent (subclass 820/801)
This is for people to stay in Australia with their partner, who must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. If two years after you apply the spousal relationship is ongoing, a permanent visa may be granted.
